The intent was to design an orphanage in the city of Bourj Hammoud, a densely built-up residential area characterized by multi-dimensional poverty. Children going through such circumstances often experience social isolation and safety concerns. This design aims to create a home-like environment for these children, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The design strategy begins with a central communal space, serving as the heart of the orphanage. All other spaces, including educational areas, skill development workshops, and recreational zones, radiate from this core. This approach encourages interaction, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose.
