A LA FAÇON DE KAHN KORMAN HOUSE

The final design is a work/live space derived from the precedent analysis of the living room in “The Kahn Korman House” by Louis Kahn with enhanced personal ideas. This room is not necessarily a box, it is a combination of elements: a library that is important since it extends from one wall to another, and it is central and inhabited by a staircase that creates a circulation between the live/work spaces in addition; there is a broken floor that creates a division between the living space and the working space with two different functions and experiences; the piercing on the upper level that works as a mezzanine that holds a living space with different experiences; and the glazed façade that showcases vegetation and hills. All combined have created a massive wall that is highly functional and inhabited. The room has in fact, ended up as a box, however, it is sliced into two parts: one that is the massive, inhabited wall, and the other, less inhabited, the massive wall becomes the served to the servant that is the other wall.
