A Cinema Art Center – The palimpsest and the movie screen.

By thoroughly exploring various potential interventions from a tabula rasa to a detailed historical reconstruction, designers will learn to make informed decisions.  They will determine what to retain, discard, or selectively incorporate ensuring their choices align with “The Tower of lions” site’s inherent characteristics, program requirements and their creative vision.
Through a well thought of the process of making spaces, students will question the elements that contribute in making spaces experiential. Spatial qualities, circulation promenade, material choices from textures and finishes and color palettes, lighting conditions and solar exposures are essential factors that were explored and drove the design process to making creative thoughts functional and executed.
Each designer will use his/her own creative means of exploration to express and translate their intention; whether through written narratives, conceptual sketches, diagrams, 3d models, drawings and schematics or even all of them; into a professional presentation of a complete design process from concept to finish.
