Starting with a precedent analysis, specifically that of Da Hop Kindergarten and Primary School in Vietnam, several notions and a concluding title were inferred. Notions like physical and visual connections, light quality, rhythm, and double-functioning elements were all sub-concepts under the big title of Unifier. In this project, this title is referring to the roof, which is the element that unifies all the volumes and masses underneath it while also separating them and dividing the spaces into rich exterior, semi-exterior and functional interior spaces, as well as creating the distinction between mass and void. In the final project for the design of the school, a classroom unit was formulated through a conceptual drawing, iterated, and then covered by a roof of different angles and heights creating different spaces and rhythm while also defining the human experience throughout the school.
