MASSK’N

Social housing nowadays is a slippery slope, as one may say, for it is often taking detours and rather becoming “Commercial Housing”. In this project, the aim is to host expats who left their home, their village and country and are residing in Lebanon in search of a refuge, or in a broader perspective a better living.
Located in Nabaah, Burj Hammoud, Massk’n, a self-fed city, is an architectural project designed to host these foreigners and provide them multiple facilities from working, living, cooking, and staying.
Therefore, a second home is welcoming them while they are away from home…
The project is considered to be a manifesto in light of the current situation the country is facing, and specifically with the parasite concept it abides by, being built on an existing structure that is serving the project as elements of foundation. This approach permitted to open up the housing cluster and connect it with the urban fabric of Nabaah.
