Like wrapping ribbons staircases bind the neighborhood from all directions. As in SANAA’s Gifu Kitagata’s Apartment Building the planned structure and its exterior stairs are conveying an unexpected vernacular environment within. Its uniqueness comes from this quality. This project is investigates the staircases as a stitching tool between the spaces in both the “Unit” and the “System”. The movement wraps around the volumes and combines both private and communal areas. The resulting organization system of multiplication provokes a vernacular experience.
