TRANSLUCENT SILOS: A CINEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY

nour arabi

My concept aims to revive the history of cinema through a unique display of six translucent cylindrical silos, each standing 3 meters tall and inspired by the ribbed vault structure. The first silo serves as a welcoming reception area, guiding visitors into the exhibition. The second silo houses a bookshop where guests can read, interact, and engage in discussions. The third silo features a zoetrope, allowing visitors to view motion through slits. The fourth silo showcases a flipbook with separate, captivating stories. The fifth silo is dedicated to a Hakawati, offering an immersive storytelling experience. Finally, the sixth silo provides a serene mezzanine space where visitors can lie down and gaze upwards, appreciating the architectural beauty of the ribbed vault. On the second floor, accessible via a transparent glass elevator, visitors enter a cafeteria through rooms (camera obscura), where they can take photos while viewing themselves on a screen.
