The built fabric of Furn el Chebbak, done in parts, inevitably brings about a residual space in between the residences. Residuals are not to be mistaken with neglections, as the essence of these spaces exist within their appropriations. The built project would host a group of orphaned young adults, with a focus on reinventing the residuals as the core spaces to host all types of activities for the inhabitants. A horizontal layering of spaces would provide introversion and allow bridging spaces together which become the cores; the idea of recasting a new author for the space: the inhabitant. The program includes a workshop, accessible to the public, to incorporate the inhabitants into the socioeconomic fabric of the city with an emphasis on improving soft career skills and building a network. Establishing a habitat in which the residuals become the whole, an indispensable part of the everyday.
