FRAMES OF TIME: A CULTURAL CINEMA EXPERIENCE
lea maria nakad
My project is inspired by the majestic height and weathered stone of the fort. The first floor’s towering seven-meter elevation reflects the fort’s grandeur and underpins my concept of crafting diverse visual connections for each visitor. By thoughtfully manipulating these connections, every guest experiences something unique. At the heart of my design is the use of steel, specifically rusted and perforated varieties. Steel was chosen for its ability to convey the passage of time, adding an authentic, aged quality to the space. This choice ensures that the fort’s character is preserved and complemented, rather than overshadowed. Rusted steel accents bring a sense of history and depth, while perforated steel handrails on the main and mezzanine levels enhance openness and fluidity, enriching the overall spatial experience.
