FRAGMENTED CITY AND DISCONNECTED URBAN SCENES

In the heart of Beirut’s historic Karantina district stands an architectural testament to unity and poetic vision: my latest project, a fusion of art and commerce designed to weave the frayed threads of this area back into the vibrant tapestry of the city. Inspired by the rich heritage and resilient spirit of Beirut, the design revolves around three enchanting courtyards, each a sanctuary where light and shadow dance in harmony.
These courtyards not only serve as focal points but also as catalysts for community engagement, shaping the surrounding interior markets where artisans and patrons converge in a symphony of creativity. As one ascends from ground floor to upper levels, the market seamlessly expands, inviting exploration and discovery. Interspersed within this dynamic space are residential units, providing sanctuaries of tranquility amidst the bustling energy of commerce.
My architectural endeavor in Karantina is not just about buildings; it’s a testament to the transformative power of design, reclaiming spaces and fostering connections that transcend physical boundaries. It’s a celebration of Beirut’s resilience and a testament to the enduring spirit of its people.
