This studio tackles the issues of body, form, and space through design projects in 3 phases.
Phase 1 envisions the house as an extension of the body and tackles the design of a dwelling restricted to a minimal area. The maximum inner volume target is 20 cubic meters. It is designed to accommodate the needs of one person, providing an amount of comfort, and a place to rest, store and perform various everyday activities. The unit is relatively impermeable, and its smallness still allows for its movability.
Phase 2 consisted of extending the designed unit in Phase 1 by designing a spatial device that, by expanding the interior, captures a portion of the neighboring space.
Finally, Phase 3 consisted of creating a new unit located in a building whose façade will be considered as a continuous “ground” that is populated by all the units produced by the studio, while defining the constructive nature of its connection. The interior façade of the building designed by the students provided all accesses, circulation spaces, as well as various amenities.
