Set in the vibrant heart of Batroun, this project contributes to a carefully generated transportation hub, that strives to reorganize the motion and engagement in the bustling city, attempting to create a more efficient urban experience for pedestrians and vehicles alike. Its strategic location along the Seaside Road, seamlessly connecting major Lebanese cities, reinforces the program’s impact. It benefits from its proximity to both the Old Port and Old Town, further enhancing its position and connectivity. Equally important is the project program itself comprised of a bus station, complemented by a youth hostel doubling as an inclusive library. A studied multifunctional combination as such appeals to a diverse audience. The hostel provides affordable accommodation for individual and small group travelers, both Lebanese and foreign, seeking temporary stays while exploring the city. The well-designed library attracts local residents, offering them a modern working space. Finally, the bus station serves as a simplified public transportation option for Batroun District residents and the rest of the country. With a piazza acting as a buffer zone between the Seaside Road and the pedestrian-only Old Town, the project harmonizes these elements to realize its full potential and promise.
