ARCHITECTURE & NATURE

P1 | Urban Garden
A neighborhood immersed by nature accessed by a ramp, then set stairs, that slowly take one in. As one dives deeper, another set of steps… This architectural element is evident throughout the continuous movement in this neighborhood developing a sense of confusion as one is repeatedly interrupted by a wall or series of stairs forcing one to retreat back. But nature, emerging from each corner and edge, engulfs the neighborhood, connecting everything together.
P2 | Primary School, Senegal
Inspired by Sou Fujimoto’s Childrens’ Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, the design of the primary school seeks to establish interwoven spaces that children roam around and explore with defined elements. A controlled random system is created to further enhance the children’s organizational skills. The voids create duality between interior and exterior spaces, establishing multiple spatial dialogues of public and private, introducing a dynamic orientation, connecting all units and functions together, becoming the datum of the design.
