ALTITUDE

A feel good place is a place where I feel like I am elevated. It is where I am able to observe my surroundings and feel the gentle caress of the wind upon my skin. This is precisely why I have selected the Guggenheim Museum in New York by Frank Lloyd Wright. The peripheral circulation, guiding visitors through all levels, creates a unique experience wherein everyone is granted an elevated perspective of the expansive void within the museum. Also, this museum possesses a remarkable attribute: visitors themselves become an integral part of the display. In light of this, I decided to design an exhibition space for natural photography. The project comprises three pavilions made of freestanding display elements (screens and paintings) that also serve as seating elements, lighting fixtures and balustrades. These elements are thoughtfully positioned to allow individuals to get immersed within the artwork. The experience is further enhanced by the feeling of wind circulating throughout the pavilions. The circulation within the museum consists of a narrow platform, with a width of approximately 1.2 meters, ensuring that each person has their designated space allowing users to experience the exhibition from various angles. The project comprises three distinct paths. The first path leads directly to the garden, the second serves as the main circulation, taking the user through a promenade all the way to a viewing platform that overlooks the exhibition from above. The third pathway leads underground to a pleasant seating area adorned with benches, accompanied by restrooms and storage facilities.
