URBAN OASIS

The aim of this project is to create a feel-good place in an urban context. A feel-good place, to me, is not isolated in nature or confined indoors. It’s where I can be connected to both people and nature, right in the heart of the city.
Inspired by OMA’s submission for Parc De La Villette, I organized my spaces using a grid as a foundation. This grid represents open gathering spaces while defined disruptions_ community center activities_ break its pattern.
Big Scale Interruptions like “Dimension Drift” and the “Green Haven” disregard the rhythm, while smaller interruptions like “eating,” “reading,” and “retreating” are organized in vertical clusters of three, encroaching on the boundaries. This community center acts as a meeting place for everyone, whether they want a quick drink, a child seeking freedom to play, a reader, or someone looking to connect with neighbors.
It fulfills our longing for connection, which is often lost in today’s isolated societies. Through this center, we reignite and unite our community.
